Right Earlobe:
This lady suffered from a lacerated right earlobe caused by wearing heavy earrings. This is a very common problem. This cosmetic issue can be addressed with a relatively simple procedure in the office. This view shows the full extent of the injury with the lobe spread apart. Sometimes patients present when the piercing has been elongated, but has not completely cut the earlobe as in this case.
This view shows the pre operative appearance of the earlobe in it’s natural position.
This is the post-operative view only five weeks after the surgery.
The wound was already very faint and will become virtually invisible over a period of 10-12 months. This repair takes about half an hour and is performed in the office. The ear can be re-pierced a few months after the procedure.
