Frontal:

This lady from Pittsburgh had had a prior Otoplasty procedure performed by another surgeon in the area. Before her first procedure both ears had been substantially protruding (sometimes referred to as a lop ear deformity). Within a few months of her surgery, she noted that her right ear returned to the same protruded position as before that surgery. This recurrence of the protruding ear is always a risk with Otoplasty surgery. Proper technique can reduce the risk of recurrence, but never eliminate it completely. I always discuss this risk (and all other risks) with my patients interested in this procedure. She came to my office in the hopes that the right ear could be corrected and made to appear similar to the left ear. As you can see, the after pictures shows the nicely repositioned right ear. This picture was taken at 10 months and there was no sign of recurrence.
